SAMPLE THE SKY

Project management, album campaign

Project management and artist management for London-based multidisciplinary artist and producer Laura Misch’s debut album ‘Sample The Sky’ on One Little Independent Records (same label as Björk).

We started working with Laura when she had finished her demos for the album. At that point she had been self-releasing all of her music, including the previous album ‘Playground’.

From A&Ring the music and finding a label to release on, all the way through supporting the manifestation of her vision in every aspect of the project. The art direction of the artworks and music video, drafting up campaign strategies and working with an all-star international team of PR agencies in all the main territories, managing press and touring strategy. All this thanks to the professionalism and creative input of the One Little Independent team.

The result was a captivating campaign, which felt easy to transmit into every aspect of communication, from social media, to press, video, live shows.. The narrative of ‘care’ and Laura’s artistic expression especially on stage, allowed the music to transport audiences immediately and key tastemakers alike, receiving critical acclaim across boarders.

Her album UK & Europe tour saw her sell out venues like Berghain Kantine (Berlin), Paradiso (Amsterdam) and EartH (London).

Press highlights include CLASH, Composer Magazine, The Line Of Best Fit, Nowness, XLR8R, The Independent & more.

An enchanting journey through London’s wild edgelands, the LP is an ode care, connection and listening to the natural world. ‘Sample The Sky’ responds to nature's patterns through organic electronic productions, embodied lyrics, wind inspired saxophone, singing and synthesis all woven into intricately crafted left-field pop songs.

For the creative process, Laura invited everyone from her South London creative community from musicians, to art directors, florists and more. The album cover artwork and the Portals single were photographed by Ella Pavlides. The ‘Portals’ video was commissioned and produced by Connie Meade, co-founder of AMF records. And for the adventurous videos of ‘Hide To Seek’ and ‘Listen To The Sky’, she collaborated with Saddiq Abubakar, a Nigerian American filmmaker based in London.
